imaginExtreme Barcelona returns the 7th and 8th of November

  • imaginExtreme Barcelona will be held during the weekend of the 7th and 8th of November at the Parc del Fòrum with limited capacity

  • It will be a compact edition, with european riders and maximum control.

It had to be an Olympic year with the debut of urban sports with disciplines such as skateboarding or BMX, but both will have to wait until 2021. Meanwhile, the city of Barcelona wants these street sports to continue alive and that is why it maintains its commitment to celebrate the imaginExtreme Barcelona, which will celebrate its 10th edition with all the necessary security measures.

This September, the 10th edition of imaginExtreme Barcelona was to be held on a “large scale” version. But the current situation derived from the coronavirus has forced the organization to modify its dates: it will be held on the weekend of the 7th and 8th of November 2020, at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona. It will reduce its space, as well as its competitions and open activities so that they can comply 100% with all the established regulations for COVID-19 prevention. The idea is to offer the best possible content in the best possible conditions taking into account the current context.

The event will feature scooter, skate, BMX and roller freestyle competitions in which local, national and European riders will participate. In this way, health safety can be guaranteed for both athletes and the public. This is a great opportunity to support our athletes and continue to grow the support for urban sports.

In this same direction, the capacity of the event will be reduced so that the public can maintain the necessary safety distance at all times and will have assigned seats in the main auditorium of the Forum. This is one of the main measures that will be carried out, but little by little the COVID-19 protocol for the public and athletes will be announced. This is an open-air event, helping to minimize the risks.

Soon the public will be informed through the usual channels (web, social networks…) of the available tickets and how to acquire them.

Streaming, social networks and TV

The imaginExtreme Barcelona has been committed to sharing its event with all those who are not in the city for many years and this year, more than ever, it’s more important than ever. The competitions can be followed live by worldwide streaming through social networks that, in addition, will inform about everything that happens in the Forum.

For fans of local extreme sports, TV3 will continue to lead this aspect, and will broadcast all the finals on its sports channel Esport3.

In addition, imaginExtreme Barcelona will be able to reach more than 900 million homes with the reach of the international distributor IMG, which will offer the event at Edge Sport; as well as through the Olympic Channel platform, which is already betting on urban sports content before its Olympic debut in 2021.
